It has been scientifically proven that emotions are like an epidemic. For example, people who are always under some mental stress can spread negativity around them. Like germs, emotions (thoughts), especially negative emotions such as anger, fear, and frustration, can spread from one person to another.
The
human brain has evolved to protect us from any impending danger. So it pays
more attention to negative emotions to keep us alert and maybe to help us learn
from other people's negative experiences.
When
we are under mental pressure, our body releases a hormone called cortisol. A
recent study revealed that when you see another person under stress, your body
immediately produces the stress hormone cortisol, which can be measured in the
laboratory. This effect is even greater when the person under stress is your
close friend. However, mental stress can spread even between strangers to the
extent that they are limited to a video conversation.
Like
mental stress and negative emotions, positive attitudes and happiness are also
epidemic. When you are surrounded by positive thinking people, you start to
enjoy life more and feel more energetic. Mental stress and negative thinking
can harm your health and destroy your digestive system, making you prone to
more diseases. So it is necessary that you keep interacting with positive
thinking people as much as possible but also keep in mind that you keep
matching with people who need you to get out of stressful situations.
If
you are one of those people who spread negative thoughts around you, then
remember that the famous physicist Stephen Hawking said that if you are always
angry or complaining, then people will not have time
for you. So stay positive and associate with positive people.
