Have you ever wondered why we use transformers?

Can't electricity be delivered to homes without a transformer?

The answer is that P=IV. Since the voltage we need in homes is very low while the voltage coming from the power station is very high and the transformer works by changing this voltage, i.e., reducing it, and this is the great work of the transformer. If there were no transformers, the current would have to be increased a lot for the power coming from the power station, then the voltage would be reduced. Because in P=IV current and voltage are the inverse of each other i.e., opposite. But if this was done, there would be very few houses where electricity could be detected because houses require low voltage around 230v volts. Now, if a large amount of current is to be conveyed from one place to another, a thick wire will be required for it.  Because the greater the thickness of the wire, the lower the resistance of the wire, and the lower the resistance, the more current can pass through the wire. Think for yourself how much it will cost but even if we do this, the required voltage will not be reached due to power loss. But instead of increasing the current, we prefer to increase the voltage.

Voltage can be considered as a kind of push that pushes the charge (electron). If the voltage is high, it means that the charge is being pushed more. And since more voltage is coming from the power station, while homes require less voltage, so we need a device that can reduce the voltage by using it and that is the transformer. The transformer PMT around our homes. are applied They are step-down transformers. Step-down transformers are transformers that step down the voltage. And the principle under which they work is called electromagnetic induction. Michael Faraday was the first person to discover electricity (AC current). The person who gave this principle was Michael Faraday.
