It is a description of the relationship between the pressure and volume of a certain amount of gas at constant temperature.

This relationship was discovered by Robert Boyle, a scientist from Ireland in 1662. According to this law, if the pressure of a certain amount of gas at a constant temperature is doubled, its volume will be halved. Similarly, if the pressure is reduced to half, then the volume of the gas will double. It can also be stated that the volume of a gas at a constant temperature is directly proportional to its pressure. Boyle's law is not completely accurate. This law is true for gases at low pressure, but the behavior of gases at very high pressure is not according to it. This relationship was also discovered by the French physicist Edme Mariotte in 1676.
